North Belfast Alliance Representative Billy Webb has condemned an incident in which a man was threatened with a screwdriver and the perpetrator left with a sum of cash and the victim’s mobile phone. The incident happened on Thursday at around 10.25am in the Townsend Terrace area of the city.
Cllr Billy Webb said: “This was an utterly despicable incident. This must have been deeply traumatic for the victim and my thoughts are with him as he tries to get over this ordeal.
“It’s difficult to comprehend how someone could actually bring themselves to do something like this. We need to get people who act in this way off our streets and we need the public’s help to do so. I would appeal to anyone with information on this incident to contact police immediately to assist them with their investigation.”
