Newtownabbey Alliance Councillor Billy Webb has hailed news from the Education Minister that Whitehouse Primary School ‘s £3.6m rebuild is going ahead and said that this news is long overdue. The school was destroyed in an arson attack in July 2009. Billy Webb has been strongly supporting the Whitehouse school campaign since the incident and he is a Governor of Newtownabbey Community High School where pupils from Whitehouse Primary are currently being schooled.
Cllr Billy Webb said: “This news is long overdue and is a massive boost to children, parents and teachers alike.
“People have had to wait a long time for this news but now all the excellent campaigning has delivered results. This is a great victory for all those who have worked so hard to ensure Whitehouse Primary School gets its voice heard.
“This news shows that people power works and it’s a real boost to the whole community.”
