Strangford MLA Kieran McCarthy said: “I am shocked and surprised that staff would do such a thing. Such actions must be stamped out permanently and a strong message must be sent to those who would contemplate falsifying records.
“Procedures need to be extremely tight to ensure that all information is correct. Healthcare staff work under real pressure, but there can be absolutely no justification for such practices.
“Patients must come first, not staff seeking to meet targets at all costs.
“This data is extremely important as it ensures that management can see where vital resources need to be targeted to save more lives.”
