Chair of Policing Partnership hails crime reduction in Glengormley

Chair of Newtownabbey District Policing Partnership, Cllr Tom Campbell, has praised local police following news of a reduction in anti-social behaviour in Glengormley. His comments come after PSNI Sector Inspector Julie Blain revealed that targeted use of ASBOs have resulted in a drop in crime in the area.

Tom Campbell said: “I am very pleased that action from local police has seen a reduction in the level of anti-social behaviour in Glengormley.

“I want to take this opportunity to praise the pro-active work of the police in combating crime in the area. Anti-social behaviour can have devastating effects on the community and can make people’s lives a misery. I am glad that police are able to take sufficient measures to crack down on crime effectively.”

“I hope this progress in Glengormley can be continued in future. I also want to encourage people to report all incidents so that police are aware of all problems and can allocate resources accordingly.”
