Lyttle urges public to reject fake transport leaflets

East Belfast Alliance MLA Chris Lyttle has urged people to reject a fake leaflet suggesting that senior citizens and those who have immigrated to Northern Ireland will be able to get certain public transport offers. The leaflets were distributed in the Knocknagoney area of East Belfast.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I am very concerned by the aim of those behind this fake leaflet.

“Any attempt to mislead people on the cost of public transport and incite racial tension is to be roundly condemned and will be rejected by the good people of East Belfast.

“It is, however, ironic that the UUP Regional Development Minister has condemned those behind this leaflet when his own party is believed to have contributed to the distribution of a leaflet spreading misinformation about my party.

“I don’t know who has distributed these leaflets but I hope anyone with information will assist the PSNI and Translink with their investigations.”
