Lyttle pays to tribute to IFA over EU recognition of their “Football for All” project

Alliance East Belfast MLA and Sport Spokesperson Chris Lyttle has paid tribute to the Irish FA after their “Football for All” project has been selected as a best practice model in a new book produced by the EU European Transnational and Interrgional Cooperation Unit. The project helps support Carling Premier League clubs to develop and implement their own community relations strategies.

East Belfast MLA Chris Lyttle said: “This announcement is a tribute to the excellent community relations work that the IFA are doing. I would like to congratulate all the staff and volunteers involved in this project.

“I have been working with their community relations unit and I have been impressed by their goal to play their part in building a united community and reducing sectarianism and racism in our society.

“This project has only been successful due to the willingness of the fans to get involved and work with the clubs and the IFA to improve community relations in their local community.”
