Cllr Michael Long, who is also Chair of the Alliance Party, said: “This school plays a pivotal role at the centre of the community in the Braniel area and this incident is very unsettling.
“Why would anyone want to carry out a pointless and destructive act like this? This incident has angered the community.
“A message needs to be conveyed that people who carry out acts of this nature will be caught. I hope the authorities can apprehend these individuals. If anyone has information that could assist police in relation to this incident, they should contact them immediately.”
