Naomi Long MP said: “I will be returning from holiday to be in Parliament on Thursday for the debate.
“I had already joined with other MPs in signing an Early Day Motion calling for a full debate before any further military intervention, as I believe that whilst any vote would not be binding on government, it is important that the issue is discussed fully by Parliament prior to any decisions being taken.
“I share the horror and revulsion of the vast majority of people when they see the humanitarian crisis which has been unfolding in Syria and particularly the images of civilians being subjected to chemical weapons; however, I remain unconvinced that military intervention is the right course of action in this case and will be listening carefully to the arguments put forward on Thursday.”
