Lo welcomes Queen’s international students scheme

Alliance Employment and Learning spokesperson Anna Lo MLA has welcomed the international students scheme at Queen’s University that will create 40 jobs. The project will help Queen’s form links with other universities throughout the world to attract international students to study here.

Anna Lo MLA said: “I am glad that Queen’s is continuing its commitment to attract international students. These young people will be the future leaders in their country and hopefully they will remember Northern Ireland in the future when they are the decision makers.

“These students will be a boost for the local economy when they are studying here. And the creation of 40 jobs should be especially welcomed in these economically uncertain times.

“Queen’s does however need to ensure that the courses these students take are well run and monitored so that these young people are not taken advantage of.”
