On Wednesday evening, August 2, a poly tunnel valued at around £3,000 was set on fire and completely destroyed at the garden in Musgrave Park.
Anna Lo MLA said: “I am absolutely appalled that anyone would stoop so low as to attack a garden so well used by the community. It is disgraceful that people who rely on using the therapy garden will have to do without until the damage is rectified.
“This is a despicable act of vandalism and I would call on the whole community to work together to ensure those responsible are brought to justice. I would appeal for anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
