Lo calls for motorists to be vigilant following attempted hijacking

Alliance South Belfast MLA Anna Lo has urged motorists to be vigilant after an attempted hijacking of a motorcyclist on Great Victoria Street in Belfast on Thursday. A man approached the female motorcyclist, punched her and told to get off her bike. She was however able to drive off.

Anna Lo MLA said: “I would urge all motorists to be vigilant of a potential hijacking.

“I hope that this motorist is able to get over what must have been a traumatic experience. I know myself what it is like to be a victim of this crime and my thoughts are with her.

“This spate of hijackings must stop before somebody is seriously injured or killed.

“If anybody has any information about this attempted hijacking or any of the previous hijackings then I would urge them to contact the police.”
