Stewart Dickson MLA said: “Mairia Cahill has shown such tremendous courage and bravery in speaking out about such a personal and difficult issue.
“I am pleased that the Public Prosecution Service has decided to review the processes in handling her case.
“It is important that the system offers support to victims of abuse and that justice is not denied to them. Any attempt to cover up sexual abuse is wrong, and such allegations must be fully investigated.
“I would reiterate the Alliance Party’s support for all victims of abuse and would urge anybody with any information about such abuse to contact the Police.”
