Stewart Dickson MLA said: “This pipe bomb had the potential to seriously injure or kill. It sickens me to think that there are people who believe it is acceptable to leave an explosive device in a residential area, particularly so close to a primary school.
“I would like to pay tribute to the police and army personnel who have put themselves in danger in order to protect the public from those who would seek to murder.
“If anybody has any information about this pipe bomb then I would urge them to contact the police.”
