Currently the Deputy Mayor of Coleraine, Councillor Boyle said she was delighted to receive the nomination, adding her priorities included working to improve the local economy following the DLVA job losses.
Councillor Yvonne Boyle said: “I’m delighted to have received the full backing of my Alliance Party colleagues. As a Coleraine Councillor and with family in Limavady,
East Londonderry is a constituency I am passionate about and I am looking forward to spreading the Alliance Party message of a shared future across the whole area.
“Alliance is the only Party that offers an alternative to the tribal politics of the past and gives voters a real opportunity to move forward towards a new Northern Ireland.
“Locally there is plenty of work to be done and I believe an Alliance representative at Westminster is best placed to work for everyone across our community, tackling the continued challenges and tensions in the area and leading the way towards a shared future.
“The economy and arts are also top priorities and issues I have been focussed on as Deputy Mayor. With the Causeway Coast one of Northern Ireland’s greatest attractions, East Londonderry has massive tourist potential and would benefit further from joined-up promotion, building on the great record of individual areas.
“I’m looking forward to getting out and about, chatting to constituents and encouraging as many as possible to step forward with me next May.”
