Wilson shocked at hammer attack in Bangor

Alliance North Down Councillor Anne Wilson has expressed her shock after two men were set upon by a group of five people armed with hammers on Monday night on the Rathgael Road in Bangor. The two men in their 20s sustained injuries to their faces and hands.

Cllr Anne Wilson said: “I am shocked by the brutality of this attack. I do not know what could possess somebody to carry out an assault like this.

“I hope that these two men will be able to make a swift recovery from the injuries they sustained.

“If anybody has any information about this attack then I would urge them to contact the police.”
