Cllr Billy Webb said: “I want to praise the efforts of the brave fire service crews who once again put their lives on the line to rescue others. Every day we see their bravery and professionalism across the country.
“They truly are the unsung heroes of the community. If it was not for their quick reactions then I am sure this fire may have turned into a serious tragedy.
“I hope the man and woman rescued from the fire make a speedy recovery from their injuries.”
