Dr Stephen Farry MLA said: “The scale of this weapons find is deeply troubling. It is simply not credible for any loyalist organisation to claim that they have put weapons beyond use on their own terms.
“We have a proven and verifiable process for weapons decommissioning through the Independent International Commission on Decommissioning. The UVF simply have to follow its protocol. It’s extremely important that pressure is focused on loyalist paramilitaries to decommission in a manner which is transparent and gives the wider community total confidence.”
