Telecoms jobs a boost for South Belfast – Lo

Alliance South Belfast MLA Anna Lo has welcomed the announcement that telecoms company Magdalene will be creating 50 jobs with the opening of a development centre in south Belfast. Magdalene and Eircom, who recently announced the creation of 30 jobs themselves in the area, have been awarded contracts to upgrade NI Water’s internal network.

Anna Lo MLA said: “This announcement is a welcome boost for south Belfast, especially given the harsh economic climate.

“We have been having months of bad news of redundancies, so it is good to hear about these jobs been creating by Magdalene and Eircom.

“These jobs are exactly the type of high value jobs that we should be creating. And hopefully it will show to the rest of world that Northern Ireland is still a good place to do business.”
