Kieran stated: “I am angry at what was said by Sammy Wilson in the Assembly on Tuesday. I thought his remark was deeply tasteless. He may have felt it was a throwaway comment but it nevertheless should not have been said.
“Alzheimer’s disease has impacted upon the lives of many in Northern Ireland and his comment will have shocked people given the serious nature of this condition.”
