Alliance Assembly Member for Strangford Alderman Kieran McCarthy has expressed his disappointment at the disclosure by Lord Dubbs that the Government was unable to attract private initiative for the operation of Strangford Ferry service.
Ald McCarthy said;
“While I am disappointed, I am not entirely surprised because of the length of time the Government has been involved in this private finance initiative. I call on the Department to knuckle down and provide a new replacement vessel for the service and ensure that the passengers and users of the service are properly catered for.”
