Following an approach to Alliance Assembly Member Kieran McCarthy by Portaferry Womens’ Institute regarding an innovative road safety measure, he is pleased to report that the matter is to be considered by the Environment Committee of the Assembly.
The suggested change in the law would ban vehicles from driving past a school bus while children were getting off. Assembly Member McCarthy said that any steps to improve road safety are welcome but that special measures should be considered in regard to the safety of our children.
