Cllr Geraldine Rice said: “I am pleased that this independent inquiry is to go ahead as the public deserve to see a full investigation into this issue. Alliance has consistently called for an independent inquiry and I am pleased that the council is now to proceed with this important step.
“All that can be done to restore faith in politics must be done and an inquiry like this will help to rebuild confidence.”
