Newtownabbey Mayor demands end to vandalism after 8 schools are damaged

Newtownabbey Mayor, Lynn Frazer, has called on the public to contact police if they see any suspicious activity around schools in the area, following eight attacks on schools in Newtownabbey in recent weeks.

The Alliance Party Councillor stated: “These attacks are absolutely disgraceful and I strongly condemn those that commit such wanton acts of vandalism.

“This type of behaviour must be eradicated because it is extremely dangerous and is costing the education board vast sums of money. This money could be better spent providing vital teaching services instead of repairing schools damaged though vandalism.

Alderman Frazer concluded: “I appeal to anyone who sees any suspicious activity around schools to contact police on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
