Seán Neeson MLA said: “The price of electricity here is costing Northern Ireland jobs. It is hurting our economy and means that Northern Ireland can’t compete on a level playing field with other parts of the UK and Europe. I am very glad that the utility regulator has announced that there is to be an inquiry into this matter.
“These prices are a major factor in dissuading foreign investors from coming here to set up operations. We need to do all we can to bring new jobs here and action on this issue is essential.
“This is also a massive issue for businesses already located in Northern Ireland. We need transparency on the cost of electricity for businesses.”
