Neeson onboard HMS Belfast to represent Northern Ireland

East Antrim Alliance MLA Séan Neeson represents Northern Ireland on the National Historic Ships Committee and it is meeting tomorrow on the Harland and Wolff-built HMS Belfast, which is currently based in London .

Séan Neeson MLA said: ” Northern Ireland is very fortunate in that it has three ships on the core collection of national historic ships, and they are the Nomadic, HMS Caroline and the schooner, Result.

“I will be reporting to the committee on the progress that is being made on the restoration of the Nomadic and of course I will be speaking about the interest in keeping HMS Caroline in Belfast when she is decommissioned later in the year.

“The committee has always taken a great interest in maritime issues regarding Northern Ireland and of course we will be discussing the upkeep and maintenance of other historic vessels throughout the UK.”
