A 19-year-old was attacked in a car park in Quay Street late on Friday evening.
Councillor Andrew Muir said: “I am appalled that yet another attack has taken place in Bangor. My thoughts are with the victim after what must have been a terrifying ordeal.
“Attacks like these send shockwaves through the local community and I would appeal for anyone with information on the perpetrator to come forward and speak to the PSNI immediately.
“We must ensure our streets are safe and I would also encourage all local residents to remain vigilant and to take the correct precautions to secure their safety when out and about late at night.”
