Councillor Andrew Muir said: “This was a despicable act by those involved. Targeting a charity is never acceptable and I know I speak for the entire community when I condemn this incident.
“War on Want makes a valuable difference and this will be a bitter blow for all those who volunteer for the shop locally.
“I am calling on everyone to show their support and donate now to War on Want. We must send a message to those responsible that our society will not tolerate this type of behaviour.
“If anyone has any information I would appeal to them to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
