Michael McDonald said: “This is absolutely excellent news for Cookstown and for Northern Ireland.
“This is an exciting project that has the potential to provide a massive boost to the local economy through construction jobs when the college is being build and later through jobs in relation to staffing the college. This is an ambitious and visionary scheme which will help deliver integrated training and will show Northern Ireland leading the way in top class services.
“The creation of potentially over 350 construction jobs would be excellent for the economy and the town, putting us rightly in the centre of Northern Ireland for generations to come, and on the global map as firefighters, prison staff and police officers throughout the world could see Cookstown as a place for state of the art facilities and training.
“I am very pleased that an Alliance Minster is helping drive this great project and this clearly demonstrates Alliance leading change in Northern Ireland.”
