Kieran McCarthy MLA said “This new facility based at Cooks Brae will continue serving the public not only from the village of Kircubbin but also the rural hinterland and passing customers as did the predecessors when they operated from Main Street in Kircubbin.
“I acknowledge the worry and concern of local people during the short period when we had no Post Office in the village, but with people working together, this new Post Office at Cooks Brae has become a reality albeit for a trial period for 12 months. I would appeal to all of the local community to support this facility and ensure that come the end of the 12 month trial period, the Post Office will have been convinced that this pilot project was worthwhile and will continue to carry out all the functions of a busy Post Office.”
