McCarthy – Man who carried out sexual assault in Newtownards is a despicable individual

Alliance Strangford MLA Kieran McCarthy has condemned a sexual assault on a woman in Newtownards on Sunday night. The attack happened on Upper Greenwall Street, police are looking for a man in his twenties with dark hair.

Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “This was a shocking crime carried out by a despicable individual.

“My thoughts are with the victim at this time. I hope that she is able to get over what must have been a horrific and traumatic attack.

“I would urge anybody with any information about this attack to contact the police. This person must be stopped and punished by the courts for this shocking crime.”
