McKechnie to stand for Alliance for Belfast Council

David McKechnie has been selected to stand for the Alliance Party in the upcoming Local Government Elections in Belfast. He will contest the Belfast Castle ward.

David McKechnie said: “More and more people are now supporting the ideas that Alliance promotes. Talk of a Shared Future and shared services between both sides of the community is currently one of the hottest topics.

“While other parties may dither, only Alliance has called for money to be saved by tackling the costs of division. We need to see politicians that are willing to make brave decisions and reach agreements with rivals to deliver for all sections of our society.

“Alliance have always had a strong voice on Belfast Council and have, for the benefit of all, made some important decisions. If elected I would hope to continue the good work currently being done by the current Alliance team.”
