Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “This is an issue of fairness. I believe that it is totally wrong that this ban exists and I am calling on the Minister to remove it immediately. We are building a shared future in Northern Ireland and that is about creating a better and fair future for everyone. I intend to keep the pressure on the Minister on this issue.
“What sort of message does having this ban send out? It is absolutely crucial that the Health Minister encourages more people to give blood and it is vital that this ban is lifted immediately.”
