Speaking after the latest Strategic, Policy and Resources meeting, the North Belfast representative questioned why the UUP was so intent on over-turning the Council decision.
Councillor Nuala McAllister said: “The Alliance Party led a long campaign to secure the audio recording of all committee meetings – including planning – with the full Council voting to endorse the measure late last year.
“It is unbelievable and equally surprising that in March 2016 UUP Councillors are still attempting to overturn this move, a move that gives the public open access to decisions made that often affect them.
“While others may not believe in openness and transparency, Alliance will continue to stand up for the rights of ratepayers to have full confidence in all their elected representatives.”
