With the decision confirmed at the latest Belfast City Council Strategic, Policy and Resources Committee meeting, the South Belfast representative said only Alliance was leading the way on ending closed-door politics, after her motion received unanimous support.
Councillor Paula Bradshaw said: “The public must have full disclosure when it comes to their Councillor’s interests, so they can have full confidence in all decisions being taken for them.
“Alliance has long championed greater openness and transparency. While the declarations of interests are already available in hard copy at City Hall, this latest achievement signals another step forward in our aim to end secrecy in politics for good.
“While our plans for greater openness and transparency have often been met by negative reactions from others, I’m pleased Councillors were able to get behind our calls to see all interests published on online.”
