A 24-year-old man was shot in the legs close to the entrance of the Ardoyne Fleadh, a local community festival.
Councillor Nuala McAllister said: “I am absolutely disgusted to hear of this latest incident of gun crime in North Belfast. Not only was a 24-year-old man attacked, but many other lives were put at risk.
“Those engaging in this thuggish behaviour do not represent our community and we must unite to bring an end to this type of behaviour. There is no place on our streets for these on-going attacks and they must be brought to an end.
“The location of this latest attack signals those orchestrating them simply don’t care who gets hurt in the aftermath. I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward immediately.”
