Cllr Stephen Martin said: “I am very concerned at the use of a knife in this robbery. We are very lucky that we are not dealing with serious injuries or worse.
“This is a small business that is providing a service to local people, it should not have to deal with a crime like this.
“My thoughts are with the employee who was there at the time of this incident. As a former shop worker myself who was caught up in three robberies I know how horrible an experience this must have been.
“I would urge anybody with any information about this robbery to contact the police.”
