The local MLA described the new order worth £733m from a Saudi Arabian airline as ‘positive news’, with the wings for the Cseries aircrafts due to be made at Bombardier’s East Belfast site.
Chris Lyttle said: “This is another fantastic boost for East Belfast and Northern Ireland. Bombardier is constantly developing new technologies ensuring it stays at the top of its field and securing local jobs in the process.
“In recent years the company has continued to pump resources and create jobs in East Belfast and I hope this will be maintained as the Northern Ireland economy emerges from the downturn.
“Bombardier remains one of Northern Ireland’s most successful companies and this latest contract will add to not only its future success but the success of many local suppliers.”
