Lyttle welcomes Minister’s work on zero hour contracts

Alliance Employment and Learning spokesperson, Chris Lyttle MLA, has welcomed the announcement by the Employment and Learning Minister that he is considering a consultation on zero hour contracts.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “There has been a lot of public concern around zero hour contracts in recent years.

“I am pleased that the Employment and Learning Minister is looking to take action to give extra protections to employees on zero hour contracts. It is important that every employee is aware of the rights that they are entitled to.

“Zero hour contracts may suit certain individuals, but it should not be used by businesses to the detriment of their staff.”
