Lyttle says more action is required to end hate crime

Alliance East Belfast MLA, Chris Lyttle MLA, has condemned a hate crime which took place in East Belfast on Friday night. The front window of a house on Foxglove Street, off Beersbridge Road was smashed. No-one was in the house at the time. Two individuals have been arrested.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I am appalled that yet another hate crime has taken place in Belfast. We must do more to combat racism in our society and stamp out all forms of hate.

“I am pleased to see the Police giving this issue the priority it deserves and hope that further arrests are made in relation to previous racist attacks.

“The perpetrators of these attacks must face justice in the courts, so I would urge those with information about these attacks to contact the Police.”
