Chris Lyttle MLA said: “The census results demonstrates a uniquely diverse population in Northern Ireland that requires unique and balanced expressions of identity, including national emblems and strong political leadership to deliver a peaceful and shared society for all.
“The recent violence that we have seen in the past week demonstrates that we have done very little to resolve these issues.
“It is therefore imperative that we see immediate action to progress the delivery of a shared future for all.
