Lyttle praises work of Rapid employment programme

Alliance East Belfast MLA Chris Lyttle has praised the work of those involved in the Rapid employment programme. The scheme run by Bryson Future Skills and delivered by Penna Consulting and GEMS, works in East and South Belfast to help people gain employment. Chris attended a business meeting of those involved in the programme along with the Minister for Employment and Learning Stephen Farry MLA.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I would like to pay tribute to all those involved in the Rapid programme. I have been closely involved in this scheme and it was great to hear how well it is operating.

“The flexibility in this programme is the key to its success. Being able to work with people on an individual basis and looking to improve key skills such as confidence and communication can make all the difference when it comes to helping people gain employment.

“It is an innovate partnership between the Government, voluntary and private sectors. The Minister for Employment and Learning has been very supportive of this programme and I would like to thank him for all the help he has given.

“There is still much work to be done to reduce unemployment and I am committed to delivering employment and training opportunities in my constituency.”
