Hendron urges restraint following tit for tat petrol bomb attacks in East Belfast

Alliance Belfast Councillor Maire Hendron has urged restraint following a petrol bomb that was thrown across an interface which landed on Thistle Court in East Belfast last night. It follows a similar incident that day in which a petrol bomb was thrown into the Short Strand area.

Cllr Maire Hendron said: “I would call for calm and urge restraint on all sides. We must stop these tit-for-tat retaliations.

“We must not let these attacks damage community relations in the area.

“There is no justification for these attacks. These incidents could have resulted in serious injury or worse.

“I would urge anybody with any information about these attacks to contact the police.”
