Chris Lyttle MLA said: “This welcome announcement comes as a result of much hard work by Alliance Employment and Learning Minister Stephen Farry. I welcome the agreement he has secured to avoid any unfair rise in tuition fees.
“Alliance has worked to deliver fairness for students and the public investment necessary to keep our universities the globally competitive centres of teaching and research that we need for economic recovery.
“It is vital for both economic growth and social inclusion that our universities have the resources necessary to produce a skilled workforce and that those who will benefit from higher education can do so regardless of their socio-economic background.
“This news demonstrates Alliance delivering in government and making devolution work.”
