Lyttle outraged at East Belfast armed robbery

Alliance East Belfast MLA Chris Lyttle has expressed his outrage at the armed robbery of Horatio Todd’s bistro on the Upper Newtownards Road in the early hours of Friday morning. Six masked men carrying weapons that included a handgun, a crowbar and a mallet threatened staff before making off with the safe that is though to contain a large sum of money.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I am outraged by this cowardly criminal act on a local business and its staff. It is a difficult time for our economy and the full resources of law and order must be applied to ensure people feel safe to start and sustain enterprise and employment in our area.

“I have extended my thoughts and support to staff involved in what must have been a traumatic experience for them and I sincerely hope they can recover from this ordeal as soon as possible.

“We are obviously dealing with cowardly but dangerously individuals who must be swiftly apprehended by the PSNI and I would urge anyone with information to contact the police immediately.”
