Lyttle: No justification for attack on Councillor’s house

Alliance Policing Board member, Chris Lyttle MLA, has condemned the arson attack on the home of Moyle independent Councillor Padraig McShane in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “There can be no justification for the attack on the home of Councillor McShane. Somebody could have been seriously injured or killed. Elected representatives should be able to work on behalf of their constituents without the fear of being attacked or intimidated.

“My thoughts go out to Councillor McShane. Nobody should have to go through this sort of experience.

“Those responsible have no regard for the consequences of their actions. They are very dangerous individuals who must be urgently apprehended by the Police, so I would urge anybody with any information about this attack to contact the PSNI.”
