Chris Lyttle MLA said: “This is great news for East Belfast. I am pleased that these companies have now been awarded the contract to commence works on this is exciting community-based project.
“This project is very positive for the local area and it will deliver significant regeneration and help bring in tourists and further business investment to the area. This scheme is also positive in that it will deliver construction jobs at a time when this sector is facing difficulties.
“The greenway will be an important community resource with real environmental significance. I am pleased that cycleways and school-based projects are a major component of the scheme and I would congratulate everyone involved in the Connswater Community Greenway group on the progress made on this major step forward for the area.”
