Alliance MLA Chris Lyttle has expressed his disgust after anti-Islamic graffiti was daubed on a business on the Beersbridge Road.
Police are treating the incident as a racially-motivated hate crime.
He said: “Those behind this attack have only shown their ignorance and are not representative of the community as a whole.
“This is racial hatred of the worst kind and everyone must unite against this despicable behaviour. I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.
“It is also another clear example of how vital it is to establish a functioning executive, which is prepared to bring forward a complete, actionable Racial Equality Strategy, ensuring Northern Ireland remains welcoming and inclusive.”
