Lyttle congratulates NI pupils on GCSE results

Alliance Education spokesperson Chris Lyttle MLA has congratulated pupils across Northern Ireland on their GCSE results.

Results again improved locally, with the number of pupils awarded A* – C grades rising to 81.1 percent.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I want to congratulate all pupils for the hard work and effort they put in to achieving these results – results which again have proven Northern Ireland’s students as top achievers.

“I hope many will be able to go on to what they had previously planned – from A-Levels to apprenticeships or gaining employment. Yet as they prepare for these next steps I would remind them that the next few months are only the next step on a longer journey.

“And if you find yourself with unexpected results today, time is available to help you make informed decisions on how to achieve your planned goals, either in continued education or taking the first steps on a chosen career path.

“No matter what your results today, I would remind everyone that there is support on offer from schools and independent careers services, available at indirect.gov.uk/results, to answer all questions you may have as you move forward.”
