Lyttle backs Belfast Telegraph’s ’50 jobs in 50 days’ campaign

Alliance Employment and Learning spokesperson, Chris Lyttle MLA, has given his support to the Belfast Telegraph’s ’50 jobs in 50 days’ campaign.

Chris Lyttle MLA said:”I think this is a fantastic campaign to raise awareness of apprenticeships and encourage businesses to invest in young people. I fully back this initiative.

“It is great to see the Duke of Kent and the Employment and Learning Minister, Stephen Farry, offer their support to this campaign. BT has already taken on 10 new apprentices and I hope other businesses will follow suit.

“This campaign comes as the Employment Minister recently launched a review of apprenticeships. They can help improve the skills of the workforce and encourage greater investment in Northern Ireland by international companies. Apprenticeships can play a vital role in the growth of our economy, so it is important that we ensure that we have the best possible system in place. I would encourage people to take part in the Department for Employment and Learning’s consultation which is open until the 7th April.”
