Stewart Dickson MLA said: “The people responsible for this attack want to see a return to the dark days of the Troubles. They want violence to return to our streets.
“These people have no regards for the consequences of their actions. They do not care if Police officers or members of the public are killed.
“There can be no justification for this attack. The vast majority of the public fully support the Police and are opposed to the actions of those behind this attack.
“The people responsible must be urgently apprehended and brought before the courts to face justice for their crimes, so I would urge anybody who has any information about this attack to contact the Police.”
